Allow me to introduce myself, I'm the webvamp of this here site and vampress.net, you can call me Vampress. I've been running this site, in all it's various past forms (and boy were some frightening), since the sumer of 1998.

I came to discover Ms. Page at the age of 15, having seen her image on a poster downtown my native Toronto. Thinking nothing of it, I later came across her again while surfing the internet. I still remember the first picture to cross my path ( click to view ). I was pretty much hooked from that moment on.

She was a refreshing relief from the CK ads and supermodels of the world. She wasn't like the boyish 90 pound images the media pounds into us day in and day out. She wasn't airbrushed and synthetic. She had shape. She had hips. She had flaws. She was woman. She is woman. Bettie is a woman of a million faces, a million looks, a million expressions. I could never, and will never tire of her.

I admire her ability to rise above her broken childhood, to make it on her own and become an icon while maintaining her morals and modesty. She didn't sell out and she even abstained from alcohol and drugs. A perfect role model for the youth of today, in my opinion.

I wanted to share my love for her with other Bettie fans, so I built and continue to maintain this site. It's my way of helping others appreciate the wonder that is Bettie Page. If you would like to learn more about me (my likes, dislikes, photos etc), feel free to visit my personal area on vampress.net. Thank you for visiting the Bettie Page Shrine, keep loving Bettie or else!
