While the movie's special effects and sound were ok, I found the vampires to be laughable! What is this supermodel doing playing a corpse? Why are they shooting UV bullets when they could just shine a fricking light? Why are the vampires relying on kung frickin fu? Damn, Underworld, and its sequal, are cheap fluff, aimed at convincing brainless sorority girls, and other unsavory folks, that they have just witnessed something horror, when infact, it was merely horrible!

This movie had an awesome soundtrack and awesome action scenes. The plot was well done, I thought. The vampire effects, like the blue eyes and the fangs were awesome. At least they didn't dislocate their jaws like in Van Helsing.

However, this movie had some negative affects upon people. This furthers the stereotype that real werewolves (lycans) and vampires are at war. Many people believe this. Also, the Lycan effects were so-so. The shifting from human to wolf, then back again was awesome, but once in the wolf form they looked very strange. If only they had the werewolf effects like in Van Helsing.

This also furthers the stereotype that vampire/werewolves (half and half) cannot exist and if they do they are an abomination. The effects of the lycan/vamp were very strange. Michael did not look so much as a vampire or a Lycan as he did a smaller version of the Hulk crossed with a rabid Smurf. Strange indeed.

I enjoyed his movie for the actors performances, the action, the music and the blood. I recommend this film to everyone who can keep an open mind on such things. The soundtrack is awesome!
