The Vampire Top 100 is the original top site list dedicated solely to the undead. It's purpose is to help you, the vampire webmasters of the world, to promote your vamptacular site amongst other vampire fanatics.

If you're unfamiliar how a top site list works, let me give you a brief overview. After submitting your site to the list you will receive a piece of HTML code. This is the code for your voting graphic. Place it on your page in as many places as you wish. Each time someone clicks on that graphic, it is counted as one vote for your site. The more votes you receive, the higher your site rises on the list. There are currently close to 400 sites subscribed, only the top 100 sites will be shown on the front page of the list.

All sites are subject to review by myself, Vampress, before being shown on the list. This could take 24 hours to a week to happen, so have patience my pretties. Sites will be accepted or rejected based on the guidelines below. No exceptions, and no I don't take bribes, not even blood. ;) But don't fret your little dark self, if your site isn't accepted you're more than welcome to sign up again in the future.

These are now fairly universal guidelines for joining a vampire top site list, thanks to us. Being that we were the first of our kind, many other vampire specific lists have been influenced by us and have followed suit. Please review the following requirements before joining the Vampire Top 100:

  • All sites must be vampiric in content, meaning more than 50% vampire related. Any and all vampire sites are welcome. This includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, real vampires, role playing games, slayer/anti-vampire, movie and band sites. The Vampire Top 100 is not prejudice in this regard.

  • No pornography. Artistic nudity is allowed though. No racism/prejudices. No hatred. No illegal content (warez, mp3's etc).

  • Please respect copyright laws. Give credit where it's due. Do not steal bandwidth, graphics, site design etc.

  • Cheat preventions are enabled. This means that no matter how many times someone votes for a site, only the first vote will count. Using pop-up windows or trick linking is considered cheating and will not be tolerated.

  • If you opperate more than one site, please make sure that the site listed in the VT100 is the site the voting link is on. Please do not place voting links on any other site but the one(s) listed with the VT100.

  • No password protected or members only sites. If content isn't viewable to me without signing up, I can't review the site for acceptance.

  • You may use the graphic(s) provided below, or a text link. But do not manipulate/change the VT100's official graphics whatsoever. Also please do not attempt to make and use your own voting graphic without prior approval.

Each graphic comes in a black and a white border option. Pick one that would show up best on your sites background (the black borders are best suited for lighter coloured backgrounds and vice versa).

  • It's best if you save the graphic of your choice to your own server, because I could change the path URL and it will come up as a broken link on your page if you're linking directly. Which I reserve the right to do, and will likely do periodically to prevent an overload in bandwidth use.
  • If at any time your site no longer falls within the realms of our guidelines, or becomes a non-functioning link, it will be removed and likely without warning or notice. But keep in mind this is a friendly top site list, so try not to take offence. To prevent this, keep your account constantly updated with your current site information, or take the liberty of removing yourself from the list when it no longer falls within the scope of the VT100. There is a button enabling you to delete your account when you log in.

The Vampire Top 100's guidelines are current as of and after its last modification in Decemeber 2004. Check back periodically for the odd change. And bloody hell this sounds all to serious, go have some fun and visit some vampire sites, then come tell us how much you loved/hated the site in the forums.
